The cats have been bringing us presents.
The arrival of Spring on the farm means that we’re also welcoming new critters. Birds will soon fill the birdhouses throughout the trees. Squirrels will sprint across the yard in hopes of stealing snacks to take up the trees. And, apparently, bats will take residence in the barn.
I’m always grateful that our barn cats do their jobs wonderfully and keep us rodent-free across the entire farm. That said, I could do without their surprise gifts.
Benny and Ghost have started dropping bats at our doorstep and I’m mildly horrified, completely eeked out and a little mesmerized.
Yuck.
